Two new members were appointed to the decision-making body of the GVH

On 7 October 2010 the President of the Republic Mr. Pál SCHMITT appointed Ms. Nóra VÁCZI and Mr. László ZLATAROV as Members of the Competition Council of the GVH. The appointments of the Members of the Competition Council are for a period of six years and they may be reappointed on one occasion.

Ms. Nóra VÁCZI graduated as a chartered economist at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences, Faculty of Economics in 2001. As a graduating she worked as a trainee for an economic consultant firm, while after graduation she was admitted to the GVH, where she was mainly engaged as an investigator in competition supervision proceedings dealing with network industries and media sector. Between 2008 and 2010 the Information Society and Media DG of the European Commission employed her as a national expert, where she evaluated the proposed regulatory actions of the Member States- telecommunications regulatory authorities from a competition law perspective and contributed to the preparation of the regulatory proposals of the European Union. Since she came back, she has been working for the Network Industries Section of the GVH. She speaks English and German fluently.

Mr. László ZLATAROV graduated at József Attila University School of Law, Szeged in 1999. He obtained his LLM degree at the Harvard University Law School in 2004. As regards his professional carrier - he was employed by international law firms in Budapest and in Brussels, too. Prior to his appointment to the Competition Council, he was working for the Brussels office of the international American law firm, Dechert LLP as a member of the Antitrust/Competition Division. He speaks English, German and French fluently.
